When you apply for home insurance, you may find that you get asked some quite detailed questions regarding your home. It is important that you answer these questions accurately, as if you make a claim and your initial information turns out to be inaccurate, you could find the insurance company will refuse to pay out.
You will be asked if you stay in a flat or a bungalow, whether you own or rent it, periods when the flat will be un occupied , if it has previously been effected by flooding or subsidence. They will also ask about what you do for a living, and may carry out a credit check to see if you are likely to be able to pay your premiums.
You may also be asked if you have previously made any insurance claims and what was the cause of these previous claims.
